Heeng is well known and easily added to traditional Indian food

Heeng is also used in Ayurvedic medicine and is useful in digestion, gas is also used to treat stones and bronchitis.

Saffron is also well-known species in India, it has a strong, exotic aroma and a bitter taste.

As heeng and saffron are expensive spices on the market, farmers can easily increase their earnings by cultivating these.

One trial program is known as "Krishi Se Sampannta Yojana" with more than 500 farmers involved in the trial.

Heeng is sold in the market for between Rs. 900 to 15,000 per Kg. as per quality.

Saffron can be valued between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 3.5 lakhs per kilogram as per the quality of spice.

The agriculture department plans to aim for 3.5 hectares of Saffron and 302 hectares of heeng in the upcoming 5 years.
